As part of the content design team for TEDxTampa 2025, I had the opportunity to help shape the visual identity for the event’s inspiring theme, “Lift As You Climb.” The event marked TEDxTampa’s first return in nearly a decade, held at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts—a perfect setting for a theme centered around growth, community, and shared success.

From the start, my goal was to create visuals that not only aligned with TEDx’s global brand standards but also captured the spirit of connection and empowerment unique to this year’s theme. I began by developing mood boards and early design concepts, exploring color palettes, typefaces, and compositions that would evoke a sense of optimism and collaboration. Once the direction was approved, I designed a full suite of materials—banners, personalized speaker programs, and playbills—each crafted to deliver a consistent and polished experience for guests and attendees.

The collaboration process was just as meaningful as the design work itself. I worked closely with the organizing team, joining late-night calls to discuss creative ideas, review feedback, and make quick design adjustments to meet deadlines. Balancing efficiency and elegance, I ensured every piece worked seamlessly across print and digital formats. By combining the clarity of TEDx’s visual identity with my own eye for layout and storytelling, I aimed to create designs that naturally drew attention and enhanced the overall event atmosphere.

On the day of the event, I also took on the role of photographer, capturing key moments—from the pre-event summit at the Tampa Museum of Art to the main sessions filled with energy and emotion. Seeing my designs in use throughout the venue—and then capturing how attendees engaged with them—was an incredibly rewarding full-circle moment.

The event featured an inspiring lineup, including John D. Couris, Brian Murphy, Tim DeKay, Dan Toomey, Swami Brahmaviharidas, and Bawa Jain—each sharing stories of leadership, compassion, and growth. Being part of such a meaningful production reminded me of the power of creativity in bringing communities together and telling stories that inspire collective progress.

Here is the playbill that was printed for the attendees as they entered the event. Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator were used to create every intricate asset to ensure positive experience from the use of icons to represent each speaker coming together from across the world on the cover page to the note from the curators and creating the 1 of 1000 illustration. Also worked with typography, layout, logo usage, and color palettes to create guidelines that worked alongside the given branding of TedX to improve experience overall.
