OVERVIEW

Mukta Brand is a creative brand built at the intersection of design, storytelling, and culture. It was created to serve as both a creative outlet and a fully realized platform—one where visual identity, digital experience, and product come together cohesively.

The brand was born out of a desire to create something from the ground up: defining the name, values, visual system, and customer experience without relying on templates or third-party frameworks. Mukta Brand represents intentional design—clean, minimal, and modern—while still carrying meaning and personality. Every element, from the logo and typography to the website and product presentation, was designed in-house to ensure consistency and clarity.

At its core, Mukta Brand is about ownership of the creative process. Building the website from scratch and developing an e-commerce platform independently allowed full control over how the brand is expressed and experienced. The result is not just a product brand, but a case study in end-to-end brand creation, blending strategy, design, and technical execution into a single, cohesive vision.

PROCESS

The process started very organically, with hand-drawn design concepts and early visual explorations. Those initial designs were turned into products and launched through an Etsy store as a way to test interest and validate the idea. While the products gained some traction, the limitations of Etsy quickly became apparent—particularly around branding, layout, and overall visual control—which led to reinvention with how the work was being presented.

In response, more designs were created and shared independently on social media. The positive response and direct inquiries about purchasing products made it clear there was demand beyond a marketplace platform. Rather than continuing to work within those constraints, the decision was made to build an independent website.

Within a day, the site was designed and developed from scratch. This included defining the layout, visual system, product pages, and checkout experience to better reflect the brand’s identity. By owning the entire process—from design to platform to launch—the transition from concept to commerce was immediate. The site went live, products became available directly, and sales followed shortly after, marking the shift from experimentation to a fully self-owned brand and storefront.

TOOLKIT

Designs started in Procreate and were refined using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. UX design principles guided layout and flow decisions for the website, with a focus on clarity and ease of use. The site was designed and launched on Squarespace for speed and flexibility, while social media was used to test ideas and drive early demand.
