SATPURUSH IN AMERICA
OVERVIEW
In 2024, I spearheaded a year-long digital storytelling initiative to document 50+ years of BAPS Swaminarayan history in North America. The project crafted a narrative that reflected the historic record of the chronicles of the gurus' travels alongside grass-root efforts by lay devotees in the development and growth of the fellowship across 50+ years. This narrative was in turn presented visually with the aid of archival media, digitally restored to increase historical accuracy and visual novelty.
Working on this project allowed me to sharpened my skills in content design, templating, digital asset management, brand storytelling, and cross-channel publishing. It also taught me how to build scalable systems for long-term campaigns, especially when balancing historical integrity with modern visual storytelling.
PROCESS
From the start, we approached the project like a digital archive:
Developed a visual brand system and content strategy to maintain consistency across 370+ daily posts
Designed custom templates using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign for visual assets
Used Premiere Pro for short-form video editing and motion content
Created and maintained a style guide to ensure visual and narrative consistency across platforms (Telegram & Instagram)
Implemented a streamlined content calendar and file management system for version control and archival organization
TOOLKITS
Beyond documenting history, this project required a clear, scalable design system to support the many assets and speed of release each day. The guidelines covered color, logos, layouts, type, and copy. Along with the guidelines we created templates in INDD and AI files. This make it accessible to put on platforms like Instagram and Telegram making sure branding and layout stayed consistent across all platforms.
